International team for

INTRAOPERATIVE ULTRASOUND (IOUS)
IN NEUROSURGERY

GLOBAL COURSES

Introduction

As Intra-operative ultrasonography technology has advanced rapidly over the last 2 decades, there has been a tremendous increase of awareness and adoption of it into routine neurosurgical practice, especially in brain and spine tumor surgery.

To be able to fully take advantage of the IoUS technology, an international team of distinguished neurosurgeons offers fellow neurosurgeons their insight and expertise in the use of IoUS in their daily practice through lectures, simulation and hands-on courses across the globe.

The courses are performed in close cooperation with the hosting university hospital or scientific organization, as live hand-on courses or webinars.

About us

Intraoperative imaging has become an indispensable tool in Neurosurgery, especially in brain and spine tumor surgery. Intraoperative ultrasound (IOUS) as a neurosurgical adjunct is cost effective and widely used in hydrocephalus, endoscopic, vascular and tumor surgery. The international team for intraoperative ultrasound in neurosurgery is a team of recognized speakers with expertise in the usage if IOUS, stemming from research and extensive use in their neurosurgical practice. The team provides fellow neurosurgeons up-to-date and forward-looking lectures and highly interactive hands-on practical sessions, enabling neurosurgeons to master the incredibly versatile ultrasound technology.

The courses will cover basic principles, practical tips, as well as the latest advances in this field. Didactic lectures will be combined with extensive hands-on sessions, including unique simulation, purpose designed models and hands-eye coordination stations. The courses represent a wonderful opportunity for local and international neurosurgeons at all stages of their career to advance and expand their surgical skill set.
